Lancashire Police Authority’s new-look website won the Association of Police Authorities (APA) award for ‘Excellence in Innovation’ at the association’s annual conference in December.

The award recognised the authority’s work to ensure that its website was user-friendly to the widest possible audience.

The website was re-launched in 2007 with a raft of accessibility features for those with disabilities, including Readaloud for people with reading difficulties and a British Sign Language micro site.
