HexArmor® – a leading range of safety gloves and arm guards popular with the public sector – offers unsurpassed protection against needle and cut hazards, thanks to the innovative use of SuperFabric® material.
Constructed with SuperFabric, the HexArmor gloves and arm guards meet cut level five, the highest level of cut resistance. SuperFabric is made up of tiny guard plates, which provide unparalleled laceration and slash resistance compared to any other material on the market.
The HexArmor needlestick range significantly reduces the risk of syringe penetration, protecting officials wading through evidence or when carrying out pat downs. The needlestick products are made using multiple layers of SuperFabric and tested using 25 gauge needles to provide the highest levels of protection. The layered guard plates of the thickened SuperFabric arrest, trap and block needles and other hazards, unlike the fibres of conventional materials, such as leather and nylon, which can be easily pushed aside by sharps or needles.
An additional advantage of many of HexArmor gloves is that they give full protection to the entire hand, including three-layer coverage on the palm, back of hand and thumb. Some designs also cover the entire forearm. HexArmor gloves are washable; ideal for when the risk of contamination is high, allowing for the products to be reused multiple times.
HexArmor gloves come in a pre-curved shape to fit the hand and are available with specialised gripping surfaces on the palm, allowing for maximum comfort and grip. Additionally, thanks to the precise spacing between the guard plates of the SuperFabric itself, the gloves provide essential flexibility without sacrificing performance.
“Since the launch of HexArmor to the public sector, we have received a high level of positive feedback for the gloves,” commented James Arrowsmith, business development manager at Polyco. “The HexArmor products are exceptional in the defence and peace of mind they give and we are extremely pleased that they have been so well received.”
