Teen pleads guilty to killing PC Andrew Harper

A teenager has admitted killing an officer from Thames Valley Police who was responding to a call about a burglary.

Henry Long, 18, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of PC Andrew Harper but denied murder during an appearance at the Old Bailey in London today (January 7).

Two 17-year-old boys, who cannot be identified, are charged with his murder, an alternative of manslaughter and conspiracy to steal a quad bike.

A fourth defendant, Thomas King, 21, from Basingstoke, is accused of conspiracy to steal a quad bike.

The 28-year-old officer died from multiple injuries after he was allegedly dragged along a road by a vehicle in Sulhamstead, Berkshire on August 15. The incident occurred just four weeks after his wedding.
