Airwave Solutions and Capita are among the 29 suppliers included on the new Public Sector Network (PSN) framework for IT services being established by Government Procurement Service (GPS).

This follows the announcement of the PSN Connectivity Framework in April.

Services on the PSN services framework range from CCTV, to video and teleconferencing systems, call/contact centre services, mobile services (voice, SMS, data), messaging services, and secure gateways.

The framework includes major network services suppliers such as BT, Fujitsu and Telefonica. Cable & Wireless Worldwide, Cassidian and Siemens Communications are also included.

The PSN is intended to provide a single logical network and marketplace for public sector communications that will substantially reduce costs for the public sector. The platform will enable public service providers to operate, share and deliver services across traditional departmental and regional boundaries, in cost-effective and innovative ways.

PSN-compliant services and systems are already in use in local and central government and according to the Cabinet Office, the programme has already produced confirmed savings of £64.2 million in 2011/12.
