With more video evidence being collected and processed than ever before, forces across the UK are constantly looking to improve how they record moving images from CCTV camera footage to scene of crime video that they will later rely on in court, or forensics teams will use as part of their investigations.

Siemens Building Technologies has released details of two new products based on its SISTORE MX recording system and SISTORE CX intelligent video codec. These technologies can be difficult to understand and operate to gain the best results, so Siemens has released kits to aid users.

The range of SISTORE digital video systems provide digital surveillance and image recording that can be used in a multitude of applications – from small shops, to shopping centres, offices or large-scale industrial facilities.

The SISTORE range consists of two key system areas: Digital Recording and Networked Video. For Digital Recording, there are two families of products available: SISTORE MX (a hybrid system recording for both analogue and digital cameras, 64 cameras in total per unit) and SISTORE AX (a traditional digital recording system for up to 16 cameras per unit). For networked video, there is the SISTORE CX family, an intelligent digital video codec for MPEG4 IP video transmission, recording and analysis, with the EDS version offering outdoor video motion detection system with object tracking.

The new CD based kit provides all the information necessary to understand SISTORE MX, from full colour product profiles to an easy-to-use DVR storage estimator.

The SISTORE CX resources kit features a CD containing a wide range of data on the respective systems, plus a DVD demonstrating the system in operation.
