A new range of secure in-vehicle equipment storage is being unveiled in the UK. Designed originally for the sporting and recreational market, the products from US-based TruckVault are now being used increasingly by police and fire and rescue services.

Constructed out of medium density overlay (MDO), which is lighter than metal and has the advantage of not attracting moisture, the storage containers offer a safe and secure way of transporting sensitive items and materials, including ammunition and some other explosives.

Distributed by Ramora UK, the containers allow rapid conversion of vehicles for the carriage of specialist equipment by police, fire and rescue and bomb disposal teams. Ramora UK managing director David Welch said: “Being able to adapt almost any type of vehicle for the safe transportation of specialist equipment provides much needed flexibility – and potential cost savings – in dealing with a range of different incidents.”
