Pedestrian hit by police car dies

A man has died after he was struck by a marked police vehicle responding to an emergency call.

A man has died after he was struck by a marked police vehicle responding to an emergency call. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) provided instant first aid to the pedestrian – believed to be in his 40s – but he was pronounced dead later that night. The collision occurred at around 6.45pm on Sunday (December 3) on Seven Sisters Road, Haringey. Officers were on their way to an emergency call at the time of the incident, a MPS spokesperson has confirmed. The MPS’s Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Police Complaints Commission have been informed of the incident.
