The Suffolk Constabulary officer attempted to stop three motorcyclists in Aldeburgh High Street on Monday (May 28) when the collision occurred.

He was taken to James Paget Hospital with serious leg injuries but the force believes his condition is not life-threatening.

Two riders failed to stop and an extensive search took place to trace them. The third stopped at the scene and will face no further action.

An 18-year-old and a 19-year-old have since been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesperson said: “Police would like to thank members of the public who came to the police officer’s assistance today.

“Anyone who witnesses the incident is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting CAD 280 of Monday May 28.”
