An officer who recorded a child in the shower has been sacked and has been handed a 12-month probation order. Phil Adamson was found guilty of two charges of voyeurism after he filmed his victim with a hidden phone in July this year. Coleraine Magistrate’s Court heard the 46-year-old Police Service of Northern Ireland officer admitted the offences at the first opportunity when interviewed. He has also been placed on the sex offenders register and has received a sexual offences prevention order. Mitigating, Adamson’s defence claimed he has shown “genuine remorse” for his actions and has expressed his desire to apologise to his victim. They added that prior to the incident he had demonstrated “impeccable character”. The probation board assessed him as being at low risk of reoffending.
