Officer charged with rape offences

A police officer has been charged with three counts of rape. Police Constable Ryan Canning, 43, was suspended from duty at the start of the investigation, Devon and Cornwall Police said. The Plymouth-based officer is due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates` Court on Thursday, July 27. The force said it expects the highest standards from staff and “will robustly investigate misconduct and alleged criminal offences”.
