Officer charged with attempted murder
A serving Lancashire Constabulary officer is due to appear in court today (November 14) charged with attempted murder.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a woman at a hotel on Brook Street, Manchester, at approximately 11.30pm on Thursday (November 10).
Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
The officer, James Riley, 27, a serving Lancashire police officer, has been charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, said GMP.
