MPS officer charged with sexual assault

A serving Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) officer has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman while on duty.

Police Constable Rudvelle Walters, 47, who is attached to the North West Command Unit, will appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 11, in relation to an incident that allegedly took place at a hotel in High Road, Wembley, at about 5am on February 5, 2019.

A statement issued by the MPS’s Directorate of Professional Standards said the officer was first arrested on February 6, 2019, and charged on Friday May 15, 2020.

He is currently on restricted duties and his status is being reviewed.
