MPS officer charged with sexual assault

A serving officer with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has been charged with sexual assault.

Sergeant David Morton of the MPS Detention Command, is accused of the sexual assault of a female member of police staff at police premises in Hackney on October 15, 2019.

He has been placed on restricted duties and has been bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on September 28.
