Sam Walker, 35, was wanted by Cheshire Constabulary for failing to appear at court for a disqualified driving offence in April.

However, Mr Walker escaped to Sierra Leone where he claims to have spent the last few months taking part in charity work – and posted a step-by-step guide on how to flee the UK.

He was arrested by Merseyside Police officers on Sunday (July 22) on in Cronton.

Mr Walker claimed he had to miss his original court date as it clashed with the departure of a shipping container from the UK filled with charity donations.

His ‘escape video’ showed him hiring a private jet to Belgium, another to Barcelona before arriving in Morocco on a cargo ship.

He was then driven across North Africa and arrived in Sierra Leone, where he met with the Vice President to discuss how to change the country.

He ended his video with the words: “Better luck trying to catch me when I go out of the country next time, Merseyside Police.”
