Man treated for ‘life-threatening’ injuries after police pursuit

Four people are receiving emergency treatment in hospital after a collision following a police pursuit. West Midlands Police (WMP) officers gave chase to suspected stolen blue Ford Fiesta in Cotteridge on Thursday morning (January 4). The force said the vehicle failed to stop and came off the road following a short pursuit. The driver, aged 20, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Three passengers, aged 17, 18 and 19, are being treated for serious injuries. WMP has informed its professional standards department and referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
