The 28-year-old was in a blue Ford Fiesta that collided with another car at around 9.40pm on Saturday (August 17) in Crocketts Road, Handsworth.

She sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she later died.

Unemployed Adrian Paskin, of no fixed address, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving with no insurance and driving without a licence.

The 34-year-old is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court Monday morning (August 19).

West Midlands Police said the car had failed to stop for its officers shortly before the collision.

Three people from a Volkswagen Golf suffered minor injuries with one person taken to hospital to be checked over.

A routine referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and the force’s Professional Standards Department has been informed.

The woman’s next of kin are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.
