Five forces team up for new records platform
Five police forces across south-west England are to team up to create a £50 million system for storing and managing records
The platform will cover records of crimes and case management, custody information, intelligence, and investigation data. The forces – Devon and Cornwall, Avon and Somerset, Gloucester, Wiltshire, and Dorset – are looking to create a single-supplier framework through which each organisation can award call off contracts for “the supply, implementation, and support of an integrated records management system”.
The new system will allow the forces to “manage information across key policing functions”, according to the contract notice.
Bids for the framework are open until March 20, with a four-year deal – worth an estimated £50m – scheduled to come into effect on April 26. The procurement process is being led by Devon and Cornwall Police.
