Dorset County Council has completed the initial phase of its Public Services Network (PSN).

The PSN framework agreement was signed with wide area network (WAN) supplier Kcom in July last year, making Dorset County Council the first public sector body to subscribe to a range of PSN services, including a WAN and unified communication services.

Police and fire authorities, as well as other councils and the NHS, have been

invited to join.

“The completion is a tremendous step in creating easier pathways for shared public services for Dorset residents by enabling more coordinated working between government departments and agencies in the county,” said Elaine Taylor, the county council’s director for corporate resources and chair of the Dorset PSN partnership board.

The completion of the WAN rollout connects 400 sites across the county.
