Collision leaves officer with ‘serious lacerations’

A police officer suffered serious injuries to his arm after his stationary patrol car was involved in a multi-vehicle collision on the A50.

A police officer suffered serious injuries to his arm after his stationary patrol car was involved in a multi-vehicle collision on the A50. He and another officer were taken to hospital after their Mitsubishi L200 was left on its side in a collision with a Renault HGV and a Vauxhall Corsa. The Staffordshire Police officers were attending a broken-down vehicle when the collision occurred at around 2pm on Friday (December 9) on the eastbound carriageway near Draycott. Assistant Chief Constable Nick Adderley tweeted: “One officer has sustained serious lacerations to his arm, requiring stitches. Both officers likely to be discharged from hospital later.”
