Axis Communications has announced a range of new network video products, investigating the latest developments in IP-Surveillance.

Axis has demonstrated its new revolutionary video encoder – the AXIS 247S Video Server, which converts one stream of analogue video into high quality, full frame rate Motion JPEG or MPEG-4 video.

The AXIS 247S Video Server is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and also supplies power up into analogue cameras.

The AXIS 233D Network Dome Camera has also been recently launched. Aimed at the professional user, it is the world’s first network dome camera with progressive scan.

Axis will also be releasing its AXIS 12 blade video server-based solution which is ideal for use in casinos, airports and traffic monitoring, and wherever there is a need to migrate an analogue video system to a high performance, digital solution.

Steve Gorski, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) Ltd, commented: “Axis will be unveiling new products and beginning closer dialogue with the consultant community this year. This is one important area of communications focus for us over the next year or two.”
