Essex Police offers unique career opportunities to officers transferring to us from other forces. Transfer to us on promotion or on a level transfer and you can progress your career and choose the path that best suits you.
We have a wide range of opportunities within Firearms and uniform roles, but we are particularly keen to hear from those within the investigative field and have range of exciting, challenging and varied opportunities including the Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT), Child Abuse Investigation teams (CAIT) or Adult Sexual Abuse Investigation teams (ASAIT).
Essex is a safe county. We, protect passengers coming in and out of the country at our two airports, disrupt county lines with our gangs and drugs teams and police one of the longest coastlines in the UK with our marine unit. Our teams operate across 1,405 square miles, bordering four counties and four London boroughs. With an estimated population of 1.7 million people, we are one of the busiest counties in England.
We do operate across a large area but in comparison to other forces, we are relatively small, providing excellent opportunities to enhance your career. Our smaller size also makes room for people’s personalities to shine through and we pride ourselves on recognising the excellent work carried out by our officers and staff. We are a close-knit family who support each other and we are all determined to deliver the best possible service to the people of Essex.
We have a number of opportunities to transfer or apply for promotion to develop your career across our policing ranks. Talk to us about where you want your career to go and we’ll put you in touch with experienced officers who can talk to you more about what we have to offer and what it is like to work within our team.
If you are committed to supporting victims, reducing violence, enhancing visibility and protecting the most vulnerable within our society, then we want to hear from you.
Essex Police welcomes applications regardless of age, disability, marital status (including civil partnerships), pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, transgender, sex (or gender), employment status.
