Applications are invited from existing Superintendents who wish to join Devon and Cornwall Police. We particularly welcome female applicants and those from an ethnic minority. We are looking to identify candidates who may join us over a period across many roles and specialisms.
Devon & Cornwall Police is one of the largest police areas in the United Kingdom and is a very unique area to work in. As well as a huge rural beat, we also have many urban areas to police. Exeter and Plymouth are major cities and large towns like Penzance, Torquay, Barnstaple, St Austell, Exmouth & Truro have their own character and issues. The Isles of Scilly are also part of our Force area and as a group of small islands 80 miles from the mainland they have their own distinct feel.
As a Superintendent you will be fully committed to public service and supporting our vision. You will also inspire officers and staff to achieve and drive the delivery of our Police and Crime Plan, working across the force and the strategic alliance with Dorset Police, whilst still delivering on local policing priorities. Our vision is built on the foundation of helping our people make the biggest difference they can, whatever their role and is underpinned by three key principles:
