Applications are invited from officers, with a minimum of 12 months service for the role of CAIT or ASAIT DC.
Opportunities exist across the county, with the North, South, and West PPIU Hubs and allocation to specific positions will be discussed with the successful applicant on a case by case basis.
In the role of a CAIT DC, you will conduct investigations into all child protection referrals, taking responsibility for the whole investigative process. You will participate with Childrens Social Care and other agencies involved in Child Protection on joint investigations and multi-agency meetings.
In the role of an ASAIT DC, you will conduct investigations into adult sexual offences, ensuring evidence is secured, and cases are proportionately investigated. You will be required to work closely with the Crown Prosecution Service and other key partners ensuring that victims are provided with the best quality service in line with their needs and wishes and to ensure offenders are prosecuted and brought to justice wherever possible.
If not already on the Detective Career Pathway, successful officers will be required to join the pathway to achieve accredited detective status.
