Location: Eastern, MDP HQ near Braintree, Essex (but due to relocate to Wyton, Cambridgeshire from January 2022)
Salary: £ 82,622 p.a. on appointment (Upper point £87,162 at year 3)
The Ministry of Defence Police Chief Constable invites applications for three anticipated vacancies within the MDP Chief Officer Group:
Chief Superintendent Territorial & Support: includes responsibility for firearms training, HQ Support/Projects, surge support to operations and protective armed policing at key Defence and critical national infrastructure (energy) sites across the UK, including sites hosting United States Visiting Forces.
Chief Superintendent Nuclear & Marine: includes responsibility for protective armed policing of key Royal Navy sites and sites critical to the maintenance and deployment of the UK’s nuclear deterrent.
Chief Superintendent Strategic Development & Change: includes responsibility for strategic business planning and governance, organisational assurance and standards, and programme management and change.
The MDP is a national civilian armed police force, protecting Defence and other critical assets including the nation’s nuclear deterrent and its armed forces. Over 90 per cent of MDP officers are Authorised Firearms Officers, required to comply with the highest professional and qualification standards.
The Chief Constable is looking for exceptional leaders with strong and credible professional policing records and change management skills, to support him in leading a force of almost 3,000 police officers and 300 civilian staff.
Applications are invited from serving police officers, or those who have left the police service no more than 3 years ago. All applicants must have served in a substantive Superintending rank.
