Could you lead for London?

Vast, vibrant and extremely diverse, London poses complex policing challenges. The Met is an iconic institution and our people meet those challenges daily. To ensure we can continue to do so we need outstanding leaders.

As Deputy Commissioner, you’ll have one of the toughest but most rewarding jobs in policing. You’ll influence within the Met, across London, with national and international partners and at the highest levels within Government. As the Met transforms to keep pace with a fast-changing city, you’ll inspire the 45,000 officers, staff and volunteers within the Met to deliver effectively for London, building on our proud traditions. Join us, and you’ll be instrumental in protecting a population of over eight million and keeping a global city safe, both now and in the future.

Your success depends on driving a culture of development and innovation that enhances efficiency and continuous improvement. With responsibility for the outcomes delivered through our transformation portfolio, you’ll ensure that we’re at the forefront of modern, data-driven policing.

If you’re a current or retired Chief Constable or Assistant Commissioner with an outstanding track record of operational delivery and the passion, determination and commitment to help lead the Met into the future, this role offers you an exciting career opportunity.
