‘The use of internet resources to gather information, intelligence and evidence’
23rd to 25th October 2018
The National Police Chiefs’ Council capability formerly referred to as Open Source Intelligence has been rebranded as ‘Internet Intelligence & Investigations’ to better reflect the activities under taken by law enforcement practitioners.
The rebranding of the capability recognises the fact all officers and staff must be able to access the internet to properly and effectively carry out their roles. The new capability descriptors will support frontline officers through to specialist covert investigators.
This year follows on from the success of last year’s event with conference themes focusing on work currently being undertaken to support the capability, those being;
• Training and CPD
• Innovations and Development
• Best Practice
• Common Solutions and Tools
The event will be open to law enforcement and Government practitioners, their managers and key strategic leads. There will be representation from relevant research bodies and academic institutes as well as industry and other partners.
Last year we were once again over subscribed for the period of the conference.
Our vision over the next two years is to establish ‘Internet Intelligence & Investigations’ as a professional and mature capability that supports the delivery of world class service through appropriate training, collaboration, innovation as well as engagement with academia and industry.
