This year’s Excellence in Policing (EIP) conference will be an online event in the light of the ongoing restrictions to contain the spread of Covid-19. This event will take place on Tuesday, September 29, and Wednesday, September 30, commencing at 10.30am and concluding between 3.30pm and 4pm.
As the event title suggests – What are you talking about... and what are you doing about it? – EIP will be challenging participants to reflect on the conversations that are taking place throughout the service, and those that are not but perhaps should be.
Over the two days subjects that will be considered will include: Performance (the emerging new framework); Accountability, including effectiveness, efficiency, legitimacy, resilience and sustainability; Demands and resources; Technology and new ways of working; Workforce wellbeing and diversity; Futures – the new normal; and Green police – recognising the impact of environmental issues on policing.
The event is being organised in association with the College of Policing and with support from IBM Ltd, which is hosting the event on its Watson Media platform. It will be built around a number of online presentations, conversations and interactive sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions, participate in real-time polls and engage in live chat with other participants.
