Northamptonshire Police is supplying police in Afghanistan with fluorescent jackets which used to belong to police community support officers (PCSOs).
Afghan officers need the high visibility uniforms for night patrols in areas of low light.
The force’s badge has been removed from 150 old jackets which have been flown out by the US Air Force following an appeal by EUPOL, the EU Police Mission which is working to establish sustainable and effective policing in Afghanistan.
