Two senior Surrey Police officers have been cleared of attempting to evade speeding convictions using false excuses.
Chief Supt Adrian Harper and Supt Jonathan Johncox stood trial separately last week, charged with misconduct in public office.
Mr Johncox was cleared by a jury and the trial judge ordered a jury to find Mr Harper not guilty, saying he had no case to answer.
Both officers remain suspended while the force consults with the Independent Police Complaints Commission on internal disciplinary proceedings.
