Metropolitan Police Service

TAKE PRIDE IN PROTECTING LONDON

Over 8 million residents. An area of 620 square miles. One of the world’s most diverse populations. These are just some of the reasons why London is like no other city – and why policing is such a complex challenge. As we evolve to combat an array of threats, sound leadership isn’t just important – it’s vital to our success.

The Metropolitan Police Service (the Met) wishes to appoint highly skilled and experienced police officers to Commander rank, tackling one of the most demanding roles in policing. We are looking for proven leaders with the confidence to operate in a complex political and stakeholder environment, along with the ability to deliver real and continuous improvements in all areas of performance including public confidence.

Working to meet the diverse needs of communities, partners and stakeholders, you will ensure effective delivery towards achieving our safety and confidence objectives. Overcoming complex challenges by managing core issues and developing solutions, and managing structural and cultural change to improve service delivery will be pivotal in this role.

An individual who leads by example, you will be expected to set high professional standards to deliver our priorities so that we can provide a police service for Londoners to be proud of.

For further details about the role and how to apply, please download the information pack, structured CV template, and diversity monitoring here.

Completed applications must be returned to chloe.manby2@met.police.uk by midday on 1st September 2017.

You must already be an Assistant Chief Constable or a Chief Superintendent who has completed the Strategic Command Course.

If you feel you are suited to the role and would like to learn more by speaking to some of our senior team please contact chloe.manby2@met.police.uk

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.

The Met is an equal opportunities employer fully committed to diversity and expects all applicants to have an understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities and diversity.

Deadline for application: 01/09/2017
