Superintendent - Promotion/Level Transfer Opportunity
Starting Salary: National Superintendent Payscale plus £2000 SE allowance (or other housing rent allowance).
Exciting opportunities have arisen for the following individuals to join Essex Police:
A substantive Superintendent or a suitably qualified Chief Inspector on promotion to the rank of Superintendent.

Successful candidates will be truly committed and passionate about leading their teams and developing key partnerships to ensure that we continue to reduce crime and keep the public of Essex safe.
This exciting and challenging position offers you the opportunity to join one of the most forward thinking Police Forces in the country. Applications are welcome from substantive Superintendents wishing to undertake a level transfer to Essex Police or substantive Chief Inspectors wishing to apply for promotion to the above post.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate operational credibility demonstrating potential for the rank of Superintendent.
In addition candidates will be required to demonstrate evidence of the following personal qualities at the Senior Manager level of the National Policing Professional Framework (PPF):
Public Service (PPF)
Leading People (PPF)
Leading Change (PPF)
Managing Performance (PPF)
Working with Others (PPF)
Decision Making (PPF)
Candidates wishing to be considered for a Detective Superintendent role must also:
Be an Accredited Detective and have a proven background of managing complex investigations at a senior level (Level 1/2).
Reporting to the Chief Superintendent you will be responsible for leading your command to deliver a high quality, professional policing service to the public. This will include ensuring effective frameworks are in place for the development, support and wellbeing of both officers and staff within your command as well as leading the day to day management of tasking’s and policing activities. Your exceptional inter-personal skills and your ability to influence will support you to build long term and effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Successful candidates will be expected to conduct relevant on-call duties to support Force resilience and to maintain operational skills and credibility. Please note that if successful you may be posted to any location within the county of Essex and must be willing to accept a posting regardless of location.
