Emergency Services Lead

Based in Wimbledon

Capsticks is looking to appoint a police lawyer to help drive its developing emergency services practice. We are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm as well as practical expertise to work with our team on this new strategic initiative.

Capsticks is independently rated by The Legal 500 and Chambers Directory as one of the leading providers of legal services to the health, social care and social housing sectors, as well as in the field of professional discipline. The firm has over 390 staff including over 250 fee earners across its 4 offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Winchester.

In 2016, Capsticks were re-appointed to the National Police Framework and are now instructed in the areas of Employment, Commercial and Governance. As a consequence, our police practice has grown significantly and we have a solid platform for this to continue. We have been recognised in particular for our work around integration and collaboration. The firm has taken a strategic decision to develop its work across the emergency services, to include ambulance, police and fire. This is particularly significant now in light of the Policing and Crime Act which will require greater collaboration between the emergency services and will enable Police and Crime Commissioners to take over the running of fire authorities.

The ideal candidate should have credibility and experience within the market. The role will involve helping to drive the practice forward in this area as well as providing specialist skills around the day to day legal issues facing a police force. Candidates should also have business acumen and a strong public sector ethos.

This is a great opportunity to join a driven and dynamic market leading firm so if you are ready for a new and exciting challenge please apply by sending your covering letter, CV and current salary details via the vacancies section on our website below. If you would like to have an informal chat about this opportunity then please contact Gary Hay at gary.hay@capsticks.com.
