For the best Detectives, we need the best Trainers
Want to pass on your valuable knowledge and investigative techniques? Join the Met as an Investigative Coach. It’s a key role where you’ll be responsible for training new Detectives. By teaching them well, you can help us provide London with a world-class policing service.
Working as part of local operations, you’ll coach trainee Detectives on criminal investigation techniques. You’ll be a source of professional guidance, ready to mentor individuals. Your expertise covers interviews, evidence presentation and the preparation of court files. Ultimately, you’ll be playing your part in bringing offenders to justice – while helping Detective Sergeants meet performance targets.
We’re looking for experienced Detectives or Investigative experts: enthusiastic professionals with valuable knowledge to share. You should have PIP 2 accreditation or equivalent experience. In the past, you’ll have supervised police investigations and conducted interviews. You’ve also built up sound knowledge of criminal law and the criminal justice system. The key is to share this expertise using coaching techniques. If you’re organised and articulate, we can offer a highly rewarding role.
Please note that a full driving licence is essential.
